Recommended vacuum condition
Used as a protection or reinforcement layer within a project-defined vacuum assembly. The fabric does not establish the vacuum condition; fiber shedding, cleaning, outgassing, and placement require project review.
Thermal performance
No standalone apparent-conductivity or heat-flux value is published. Added fabric thickness and compression can change the installed MLI performance, so the full stack must be evaluated.
Width and roll options
Roll and custom-cut dimensions are confirmed by RFQ. Specify width, length, edge treatment, profile geometry, tolerance, and packaging requirement.
Layer configuration options
Normally used as a localized or outer protective ply. Number of plies and placement depend on abrasion, handling, dielectric, and installation requirements.
Processing options
  • Slitting, straight cutting, and profile cutting
  • Sewing or integration with insulation blankets by agreement
  • Supplied as part of a project material kit
Typical applications
Notes and limitations
  • Not a pressure boundary, structural laminate, certified electrical insulation, or fire barrier unless separately qualified.
  • Avoid compressing the underlying MLI or creating debris in cleanliness-sensitive systems.
  • Suitability for oxygen, radiation, or flight service requires project-specific review.
