Engineering scope

Key engineering challenges

  • Limit conductive shortcuts and compressed layers
  • Define vacuum maintenance and residual-gas controls
  • Review hydrogen-service compatibility at system level

System layers

  1. 01
    Cold wall

Hydrogen-containing boundary designed and approved by the equipment engineer.

  2. 02
    Density-managed MLI

CryoMLI VDMix, 302, or 202 configured around local geometry and thermal boundaries.

  3. 03
    Low-outgassing fixing

CryoTape MAP or PI considered for controlled fixing after project compatibility review.

  4. 04
    Vacuum support

Adsorbent and molecular-sieve materials selected as part of the vessel vacuum-maintenance design.

Supporting materials and supply boundaries

East Far Cryo supplies cryogenic insulation materials, related processing, and material-selection support. Equipment and system responsibilities remain with the project owner and equipment designer.

  • Hydrogen containment, piping, supports, seals, instrumentation, and vacuum equipment are outside East Far Cryo's material-product scope.
  • Outgassing, permeability, ignition, and cleanliness acceptance must follow the system owner's requirements.
  • Getter or adsorbent sizing requires the vessel gas-load model and is not determined from insulation area alone.

Parameters needed for quotation

  • Cryogenic medium and normal / transient operating temperatures
  • Target vacuum level, pump-down method, hold time, and expected residual-gas load
  • Equipment geometry, dimensions or surface area, penetrations, and installation access
  • Target heat leak or required layer count and any governing acceptance method
  • Required delivery form: rolls, slit widths, sewn blankets, profile-cut parts, or installation kits
  • Hydrogen-service material restrictions, allowable outgassing, and planned vacuum-maintenance concept
