Engineering scope

Key engineering challenges

  • Manage large-area layer density and seams
  • Coordinate insulation with ports, supports, diagnostics, and maintenance zones
  • Document configuration and installation sequence for repeatable work

System layers

  1. 01
    Cold module and shields

Project-defined cold surfaces, radiation shields, supports, and diagnostics.

  2. 02
    Segmented MLI

CryoMLI 202, 302, or VDMix packaged by zone for installation and maintenance.

  3. 03
    Seams and protection

CryoTape and CryoFiG applied locally to protect edges and handling zones.

  4. 04
    Vacuum maintenance

Adsorbent support selected from the documented gas load, service interval, and regeneration concept.

Supporting materials and supply boundaries

East Far Cryo supplies cryogenic insulation materials, related processing, and material-selection support. Equipment and system responsibilities remain with the project owner and equipment designer.

  • Vacuum vessels, magnets, refrigeration, structural supports, diagnostics, and safety systems are not manufactured by East Far Cryo.
  • Radiation, magnetic-field, activation, fire, and facility-specific requirements require owner approval.
  • Partner referrals, if requested, are informational and do not transfer project responsibility.

Parameters needed for quotation

  • Cryogenic medium and normal / transient operating temperatures
  • Target vacuum level, pump-down method, hold time, and expected residual-gas load
  • Equipment geometry, dimensions or surface area, penetrations, and installation access
  • Target heat leak or required layer count and any governing acceptance method
  • Required delivery form: rolls, slit widths, sewn blankets, profile-cut parts, or installation kits
  • Module zoning, installation sequence, maintenance access, radiation / magnetic constraints, and documentation requirements
