Engineering scope
Key engineering challenges
- Maintain repeatable wrap density along long runs
- Protect insulation at pulling, jointing, and handling zones
- Coordinate electrical, mechanical, and cryogenic interfaces
System layers
- 01 Cable cryostat
Cable, former, dielectric, coolant channel, and mechanical structure defined by the cable designer.
- 02 Long-run MLI
CryoMLI slit and rewound for repeatable helical or project-defined application.
- 03 Fixing and reinforcement
CryoTape and CryoFiG used at controlled intervals and handling zones.
- 04 Vacuum envelope
Jacket, joints, terminations, supports, and pumping hardware remain system components.
Supporting materials and supply boundaries
East Far Cryo supplies cryogenic insulation materials, related processing, and material-selection support. Equipment and system responsibilities remain with the project owner and equipment designer.
- Cable conductor, dielectric system, cryostat, joints, terminations, and power equipment are outside East Far Cryo's manufacturing scope.
- Electrical insulation, partial-discharge, fault, and fire requirements require cable-system qualification.
- Final slit width and roll length depend on wrapping pitch, diameter, handling equipment, and installation plan.
Parameters needed for quotation
- Cryogenic medium and normal / transient operating temperatures
- Target vacuum level, pump-down method, hold time, and expected residual-gas load
- Equipment geometry, dimensions or surface area, penetrations, and installation access
- Target heat leak or required layer count and any governing acceptance method
- Required delivery form: rolls, slit widths, sewn blankets, profile-cut parts, or installation kits
- Cable diameter, run length, wrapping pitch, joint count, pulling / handling method, and electrical restrictions
